Obituary

Ted Lee Farley of Murfreesboro, died peacefully on October 8, 2016. He was born in Cookeville, Tennessee to the late Claude Lee Farley and Vallie Wright Farley. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Claudine Martin of Winchester, Dorothy Howard of Harriman, Genell Newman of Cookeville; and brothers,  J.B. Farley, A.V. Farley, and Ray Farley, all of Cookeville.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Hawkins Farley; three sons, Gary L. (Deborah) Farley  and J. Alan (Kelly) Farley all of Murfreesboro, and Larry G. (Charlene) Farley of Lascassas; brother, Jere (Nora) Farley; sister, Edith (Dan) Verble; sister-in-law, Thelma Farley, all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Bobby (Jennifer) Farley, Heather (Jason) Haley, Ashley Farley, Dalton Farley and Ally Farley; step-grandchildren, Carla (Darrell) Boyd, Chris and Chad Russell; great-grandchildren, Lillie  and Keegan Farley, Braden, Peyton and Tatum Farley, Emily and Ashley Haley.

Mr. Farley retired with over 50 years in the bread business, 29 of those years were as Sales Manager with Lewis Bakery and he was a member of Lascassas Baptist Church. During his younger years, he loved to rabbit and squirrel hunt. He always enjoyed taking care of his customers, being around people and having conversation.  He loved to keep up with what was happening around Murfreesboro and Rutherford County, state and local government & politics as well as attending basketball and football games at Middle Tennessee State University.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2016 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Dr. David L. Turner officiating with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Don Odom, Rick Hardesty, Doug Lunn, Tim Qualls, Mike Liles, Mark Trott, and Chet Brace. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest Burgess, Rick Insell, William Canter, Jim Emery, and all of the Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Station 4 firefighters.
