Mrs. Tamela Joan Elliott Strony, age 64, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She was born on July 7, 1962, in Rochester, Minnesota to Virgil Roger Elliott and Mildred Ann Waadevig Elliott. Tamela grew up in Rochester, where she attended Mayo High School, graduating as a proud member of the class of 1980. After high school, she attended Iowa State University before answering the call to serve her country by joining the Army National Guard.
Tamela lived a life full of transition and travel, spending time in Alaska, Ohio, and Pennsylvania before ultimately settling in Tennessee. She was best known by all who knew her for her immense kindness and thoughtfulness. Finding joy in the simple pleasures in life, she loved trying out new recipes in her kitchen, watching her favorite shows on HGTV and the Hallmark channel, and filling her home with the joy of Christmas music. She also took great pride in her work of helping people in the purchase of homes for their families. Tamela’s greatest love, however, was for her family.
Tamela is survived by her beloved father, Virgil Elliott of Rochester Minnesota; Daughters, Tiara Vance (Ben) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Tasha Strony of Lebanon, Tennessee; Son, Zach Strony (Kendall); Brothers, Roger Elliott and Robert Elliott; Half-Brothers, Jason and Bradley Elliott; and her cherished grandchildren who brought so much light to her life, Luna Strony, Wiley Vance, John Vance, and Roman Strony. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Elliott.
