T.R. "Petie" Bowling, age 95, passed from this life to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at NHC after an extended illness.   He was the son of the late John Henry "Bunch"Bowling and Eunice Allen Bowling.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sheets Bowling, brothers, Fred, Clark, Benny, Darse, and Gilbert Bowling; sisters, Jenny Barrett, Lilly White Lane, and Cassie Vaden; nine nephews, and two nieces

Mr. Bowling is survived by devoted sister, Hallie "Tiny" Lester; sister-in-law, Erliene Bowling, eight nephews, and eight nieces.

Mr. Bowling, born April 14, 1921, spent his childhood on a farm.  He later worked in construction, worked for Wilson Trucking, and retired from Potters Trucking.  Petie had a zest for life.  He continued his farm work at his home on Betty Ford Rd as long as his health permitted.  He was happiest on his tractor working his fields.  Always a loving son, husband, brother, and uncle, he cherished his family and friends.  He was a member of Belaire Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dean Sisk officiating.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.  Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
