Susie Cooper Goad, age 94 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Saturday June 7, 2014. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillie May Bogle Cooper, and was also preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Goad, son Clarence Goad and a grandson William Goad. Mrs. Goad is survived by her son, James Goad and his wife Lynn of Milton, TN; daughter, Reathie Winfrey; brother, Thomas Cooper and his wife Grace; sister Mary Annie Haynes; daughter in law Sarah Goad, all of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Robbie Newland and her husband Barry, Debra Weaver and her husband Dale, Ricky Goad and his wife Carol, Jimmy, and Katie Goad, and Rita Lester and her husband Alan; 9 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Tommy Underwood will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Goad was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at WOODFIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL. 615-893-5151.
