Frances Sue Spivey Messick age 78 of Murfreesboro, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday December 15, 2014. A native of Jackson County, Tennessee she was the daughter of the late Otha and Viola Hall Spivey. She is also preceded in death by her husband; Joe Messick who died in 2003, nephew; William Lloyd Walker, Jr., brother Otha E. Spivey, Jr., and sister-in-law; Reba Covington. Funeral service will be 12:00 noon Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Steve Goforth and Brother Kevin Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Garden with Jeff Spivey, Michael Ragland, Joey Wade, Rick Covington, Richard Covington, Steve Peterson, Daniel Robinson, and Dusty Ragland serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Messick is survived by her sister; Faye Ragland, brother; Dwight Spivey both of Gainsboro,TN., nephews; Jeff Spivey Michael Ragland, Rick Covington, nieces; Kim Stafford, Jennifer Spivey, and Linda Jackson. Mrs. Messick was a member of Bellwood Baptist Church and retired from teaching in 1998 from Smyrna High School. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
