Sue Scott Hukari ("Sue"), age 86, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023.  She was born in Murfreesboro, TN to Harry and Frances Scott.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Helge Richard ("Dick") Hukari, in 2006.

She is survived by son Richard Scott Hukari, and his wife Kim Kovac Hukari of St. Petersburg, FL, as well as grandsons Hunter Scott Hukari and his wife Heather Bigge Hukari and great grandson Asher Scott Hukari of Columbia, MO, Harrison Robert Hukari of St. Louis, MO, Hayes Richard Hukari of St. Petersburg, FL, and Heath Ryall Hukari of St. Petersburg, FL.  She is also survived by son John Ryall Hukari and his wife Diane Paim Hukari, of Belvedere, CA and granddaughter Kallie Suzanne Hukari of Washington, D.C. and grandson Jackson Ryall Hukari of Mill Valley, CA.  She is further survived by Helge Richard Hukari Jr. and his wife Caroline Ann Towers and grandchildren Henry Towers Hukari and Lucy Harper Hukari, all of Truckee, CA.

Upon graduation from Central High School in Murfreesboro, Sue attended college at Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia. After marriage to Dick in 1959, the family briefly lived in Los Angeles, CA and Memphis, TN before settling in Dallas, TX and then Clayton, MO, and later Atlanta, GA. Sue then returned to her childhood home of Murfreesboro and enjoyed being close to family and friends.

Sue was a lifelong active member of the Presbyterian Church and devoted much of her life to helping others, including missionary trips to Ecuador and Jerusalem, and teaching and volunteering at Central Presbyterian Church in Clayton, MO and Peachtree Presbyterian Church, in Atlanta, GA  where she was an Elder.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be in memory of Mrs. Hukari to First Presbyterian Church in Murfreesboro, 210 N Spring St, Murfreesboro, TN 37130.

Graveside service will be 3:00PM Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro. Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. www.woodfinchapel.com
