Obituary

Steven Douglas Vaughan age 48 of Murfreesboro succumbed to cancer Sept. 28 at the Alive Hospice facility in Nashville. Born in Cherry Point, North Carolina, he is survived by his parents, J. Paul Vaughan and Frances J. Vaughan, his sisters Laura Buechler and husband Bill Buechler of Brentwood, Sharon Vaughan of Austin, TX, his nephews, Eric Griffin, Tory Griffin, Niece Ella Buechler, Finance Anne Marie Knight of Murfreesboro, her son Adam Yealock of Murfreesboro, and his beloved dog Winston. Steven was predeceased in death by his grandparents, Jennings A. Jones and Rebecca Ransom Jones. Mr. Vaughan graduated from The Webb School High School and was a 1986 graduate of Tulane University, where he majored in business and was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. After graduation, he worked as a banker and a real estate developer. Steven was a long time supporter of the Boy Scouts, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, and earning the God and Country and Order of the Arrow awards. One of his hobbies was playing strategy games. To all that knew him, Steven will be remembered for his special remarks and his quick wit. Visitation will be Sat., Oct. 13 at the home of his parents from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For their address, you may call 893-9212. By his request, his body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Center Hill Lake where he spent many happy hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alive Hospice.
