Obituary

STEVEN FRAZIER KNOWLES age 47 of Murfreesboro, died Saturday July 24, 2010. A native of Smithville, he had lived in Murfreesboro most of his life. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. at DeKalb County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dustin Knowles, Josh Love, Brad Vaughn, Richard Jones, Terry Foutch, Steve Weilgus, Richard Jackson, and Chris Neely. Mr. Knowles is survived by his wife Laurie Knowles, son Steven Frazier Knowles Jr., both of Murfreesboro, his father Roy Lewis Knowles of Cookeville, Sister Linda Sue Knowles, Brothers Jim Bear Knowles, Kenneth (Tammy) Knowles, Larry (Melissa) Knowles all of Smithville. He is also survived by his nieces Hillary Knowles of Gallatin, Martha Ashley Knowles of Nashville, Maggie Knowles, Kerigan Sanders both of Smithville, and his nephews Dustin Knowles of Murfreesboro, Josh Love and Parker Knowles both of Smithville. He is preceded in death by his mother Irene Frazier Knowles. Mr. Knowles was a 1981 graduate of DeKalb County High School where he played football. While playing football, he was selected 1st team all state, won most valuable player and the Albert Walker Trophy. He also played football at M.T.S.U. from 1981 to 1983. He was a brother of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. After graduating college, he worked in the family business Knowles and Sons Nursery until it was sold and he started his own business Knowles Nursery.
