William Steven “Steve” Hall, age 72 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee died Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Alive Hospice, Murfreesboro surrounded by his family. He was a native of Covington, Tennessee and a son of the late William “WD” Hall and Betty Ann Johnson Hall. He was also preceded in death by, daughter Kara Leigh Hall, son Nicholas Reid Hall, sisters, Barbara Bowles and Linda Dennis.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Sue Hall; a son, Ben (Brianna) Hall; grandsons, Braxton, Weston and Hudson. He is also survived by his sister, Kay Scott; brother, Jeff Hall; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve was a 1972 graduate of Covington High School. He started his career with Morton Buildings and quickly became a supervisor. During that time, he moved to Kansas, and then Pennsylvania where he met and married his forever partner in life Sue. After then living in upstate New York, they moved to Murfreesboro in 1994. In 2001 Steve started S&S Lawn Service and continued mowing yards until just a few months before his passing.
Steve made lifelong friends everywhere he went with his larger-than-life personality. His passion for living life to the fullest and a work hard, play harder mentality could not be missed. Water skiing, motorcycles, and offroad in his Jeep, “Petie” only touch the surface of his passions. But his biggest passion was his family. Steve had a deep love for his wife, son and grandsons. His greatest title in life was “Pawpaw”. He will truly be missed by so many.
