Obituary

Steve Gum, age 55 of Readyville, Tennessee died Thursday following an extended illness. He was a native of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and a son of the late Doyle Wilson Gum and Annie Pauline Jordan Gum. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gary Gum.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Rose Gum; daughters, Katelyn and Ashley Gum; a sister, Carolyn Christie and husband Wes of Georgia; brothers, Keith Gumm of Idaho and Terry Gum of Readyville; and a host of other loving family and friends.

A loving husband, father, and brother, Mr. Gum was a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ and worked for Yates services at Nissan in Smyrna. He was also known as the "Lawn Mower Man" and from his shop behind his home, he repaired lawn mowers and small engines.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Daniel Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Coleman Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
