Steve Blanton, age 62 of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, March 1, 2015. He was born in Murfreesboro and was the son of the late James Smoot and Lynn Youngblood Blanton. He was also preceded by a son, Johnathan Dallas Blanton. Mr. Blanton retired from the Murfreesboro City Water and Sewer Department. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lois Browning Blanton; two daughters, Mary Jacklynn Griffis and her husband Holland of LaVergne and Jasmine Blanton of Murfreesboro; a brother, Ronald Blanton and his wife Linda of Lascassas; step-father, B.F. Carney of Murfreesboro; step-brother, Dennis Carney and a step-sister, Linda Rogers both of Nashville and a host of other loving family and friends. A visitation with the family will be Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 2:00 until 6:00 pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
