STERLING PARTON, age 92 of Murfreesboro went to be with the Lord Friday, August 28, 2009. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Hall and Willie Hill Parton. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Walls Parton who died in 1979 and a brother, Ross Parton. Funeral service will be 10:00am Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brian Harrell will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Jean Harrell Parton, son, John (Donna) Parton of Woodbury, stepsons, Kenny (Jan) Harris, Lynn (Becky) Harris both of Murfreesboro, brothers, Frank Parton, Ralph Parton, both of Smithville, sisters, Evelyn Vick of Smyrna, Marie Waggoner of Murfreesboro, grandchildren, Trenton and Chris Harris, Vanessa Garcia, Denise Plunk, Lisa Orozco, Charlie Moore, David Smith, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Mr. Parton was a member of Harvest View Church and a retired employee of Wilson Creamery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
