Stephen Lee Johnson age 65 of the Porterfield Milton community of Rutherford County, TN passed away January 22, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Franklin County High School and M.T.S.U and attended T.T.U.  Steve was a ham radio operator (KA4URN) and a member of Walter Hill Baptist in Walter Hill, TN. He worked at Robertshaw in Lebanon for many years, retired from Bridgestone in McMinnville, and farmed in the Porterfield community. Mr. Johnson was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping, fishing and hiking, riding trains, children, dogs and antique engines.

He is survived by wife:  Elyse Royal Johnson; son, Jason Johnson of Springhill ; daughter, Lindsey West and husband Justin West of Murfreesboro; son, Trey Johnson of Smyrna; grandsons, Evan Staples and River West of Murfreesboro; mother, Mary Johnson of Winchester; brothers, Jimmy Johnson of Winchester, Larry Johnson and wife Adrienne  of  Murfreesboro,  brothers-in-law, Mike Royal and Margaret Royal of Smyrna; Barry Royal and wife Sherry of Murfreesboro, sister –in-law, Anna Emory-Royal of Murfreesboro, and a host of  nieces & nephews

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Johnson; brother, Keith Johnson; sister, Peggy Johnson Sims; brother-in- law, Wade Royal

Funeral service will be 10:00AM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00PM to 7:00PM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel
