Stella Goodman, age 92 of Murfreesboro died Thursday July 14, 2016. She was a native of LaVergne and was preceded in death by her husband, James Granville Goodman; daughter, Patricia Sory; granddaughter, Cynthia Carney, parents, Dee Wheeler and Birdie Robinson Vantrease, and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Goodman was a member of Smyrna Church of Christ, and retired Dietician at Roy Waldron School.

She is survived by her children; Sherry (Tom) Carney of Lebanon, Kay (Roy) Helton of Smyrna, Mary Dee (Billy) Francis of Murfreesboro, James (Leanne) Goodman, Jr.,of Murfreesboro; son-in-law; Doug Sory of  LaVergne; grandchildren; Eric Carney, Neil Helton, Tim Carney, Amy Self, Trey Helton, Beth Shirley, Crissy Dunn, James Goodman III, Jena Goodman, Teri Goodman; 19 Great-grandchildren and 4 Great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Goodman to Stones River Manor.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Stones River Manor and NHC Murfreesboro for their loving care over the past seven years.

Funeral service will be 11:30 AM Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Clay Shirley, Neil Helton, Trey Helton will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00PM to 8:00PM Friday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna
