Starla Bowman Sherwood, age 48 of LaVergne, formerly of Speedwell, TN was born November 4, 1966 and went to be with the Lord on November 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents Elisha and Viola Parrott Bowman. She was also preceded in death by a sister Edith Lee. Mrs. Sherwood is survived by her husband of 28 years Robert Craig Sherwood; two sons, Robert Gregory and Christopher Lee Sherwood both of Smyrna; a brother, Elisha Bowman, Jr. of McMinnville,TN; six sisters, Barbara Shoemaker of Jacksboro, TN, Myrtle Bean (Buddy) and Della Evans both of Speedwell, Helen Goins, Carrie Bailey and Dorothy Valea all of Monroe, MI; three grandchildren Natalie, Jayden and Magnolia all of Smyrna and a host of nieces, nephews and a special friend Mark Meshoto. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday at the Speedwell Freewill Baptist Church. Brothers Jim Hurst and Roger Hurst will officiate. Visitation will be on hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in the Bowman Cemetery in Claiborne County. Mrs. Sherwood was a member of the Speedwell Freewill Baptist Church and had served as the food services manager at Blackman High School for several years.
