Obituary

Mr. Sisouk Akhom, age 71, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026. He was a native of Laos. Sisouk immigrated to the United States in 1980. He worked as a welder at Nissan for many years before taking early retirement. Sisouk was then able to focus on the joys of life which included travelling the world experiencing many different places and food. His compassionate, family-oriented spirit showed in his love for his grandchildren and family. Sisouk had a resilience about him allowing him to beat cancer once, but unfortunately science didn't catch up with the disease. He was also involved in the Lao Association of Nashville, Lao Women Association of Nashville, and Hack Pang Mae Yiang Lao Association of Tennessee. He was of the Buddhist faith.

Sisouk is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Khemngeun Akhom; children, Olay Akhom and his wife Bei, Joe Akhom, and Chintana Sivilaylack and her husband Chris; grandchildren, Taylor, Scarlett, Elena, Sophia, Olivia, Millie, and Letty; siblings, Bounleuth Akhom, Bounleua Sengmany, Sisay Yang, and Sisong Akhom; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. A Traditional Lao Funeral Service will be held Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 2:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
