Sidney Frank Porter, age 83 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025. A native of Harriman, NY, he was the son of the late Sidney and Mary Brady Porter. Mr. Porter was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law Richard Oldham, I and a nephew Thomas Lawell.

Mr. Porter is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bobbie Jeanne Oldham Porter; brother-in-law, Thomas (Daisy) Oldham and sister-in-law, Betsy (Larry) Jernigan; two nieces, Deanna (Wendel) Reed and Lauren Jernigan;   two nephews, Richard Oldham, II and Tyler Jernigan; two great nephews, Jacob (Shelby) Reed and Jordyn Lawell; six great nieces, Elora Oldham, Nikki (Robert) Thurman, Miranda Reed, Brianna Jernigan, Emma Jernigan, and Chloe Jernigan; and two great-great nieces, Willa Dean and Annie Mae Thurman.

Mr. Porter was of the Methodist faith and retired from the Highland Falls Central School District. He was previously self-employed at Porters Grocery, Mt. Ave, Highland Falls NY. Mr. Porter spent many years as a volunteer baseball coach for the Highland Falls Senior League (Boys-Age 13-15) coaching the mighty Panthers. He was a music enthusiast and an avid NY Yankee Baseball fan.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
