Shirley Simpson, age 82 of Murfreesboro died Saturday March 4, 2017. She was a native of Detroit MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Simpson, Sr.;  sons, Douglas Simpson and Alan Simpson; parents, Albert Joseph Smith, Gladys Ida Riggs Smith. Mrs. Simpson was retired from Murfreesboro Medical Clinic having worked with Dr. Sally Bullock.

She is survived by her children; Charles "Chuck" Simpson, Jr  and wife Janice of Brentwood; Karen Palin and husband D. J. of Nashville; James David Simpson and wife Tammy of Plant City Florida; grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Ryan, and Brianna Simpson, Kaden Palin; great-grandchildren, Bennett, Peyton, Tanner, Brendan, Natalie, Scarlett, Houston; brothers, Richard Smith and wife Mary Anne of Florida, and Al "Bud" Smith of Michigan.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Friday at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00AM until service time Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
