Mrs. Shirley Johnson, age 73, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016. She was born in Rutherford County to the late John Frank and Mamie McClanahan Maynard. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker to her family and had also driven a school bus and delivered the mail. She was an avid fisherwoman who was known to go fishing several times a week. She was a faithful member of Rockvale Church of Christ and enjoyed planting flowers in her garden.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter, Robin Morgan and her husband James of Christiana; son, John Johnson and his wife Shanna of Murfreesboro; five grandchildren, Heather Zimmerman and her husband Luke of Christiana, Jessica Black and her husband Jonathan of Asheboro, NC, Ashley Lane and her husband Charles of Christiana, and Eli and Isaac Johnson of Murfreesboro; two great-grandchildren, Gage Zimmerman and William Lane; and five siblings, Frank Maynard and his wife Pam of Murfreesboro, Jesse Maynard of Murfreesboro, Barbara Johnson of Manchester, TN, Alice Hollis and her husband Gilbert of Leanna, and Reba "Cricket" Watley and her companion John of Leanna. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Johnson.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11:00am at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
