Shirley Cannon, age 68, of Smyrna, TN, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 8, 2016. A native of Dickson, TN, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Eugene and Evelyn Faye Cocke Biggs.

A memorial service will be on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Brother Tim Palmer will officiate.

Mrs. Cannon is survived by her loving husband, James N. Cannon; daughters, Beverly Rene Osborn and her husband Scott of Lebanon, TN and Shannon LeAnne Clark and her husband Kip of White Bluff, TN; sister, Judy Simpson of Mt. Washington, KY; and two grandchildren, Amanda C. Truesdell and Nick Osborn both of Lebanon.

Mrs. Cannon was a retired Corrections Officer with the Rutherford County Sheriffs Department. She had previously worked for Judge James Clayton as a court officer. Shirley loved baseball and was an avid Chicago Cubs and a Cincinnati Reds fan. She enjoyed reading, horses, dogs, and especially talking to people. She also loved to dance and swim.

Memorials in memory of Mrs. Cannon can be made to the American Heart Association.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
