Shirley Ann Collins Bunting, age 89, was born in O'Brien, FL. She was  preceded in death by husband Thomas Oliver Bunting (married over 64 years); parents Frank Collins and Elma Hawkins Collins; sister Geraldine (Collins) Coop and brother-in-law Archie Coop

Mrs. Bunting was a resident in later years of Lascassas and Murfreesboro, TN and was a faithful member of the Northfield Church of Christ. A loving supportive wife, going wherever her husband Thomas went to preach in Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee and even to foreign missions in Canada and Norway.

A retired 1st grade teacher; she started teaching in Savannah, TN and then in the Bergen International School in Norway. Raised a farm girl, Shirley loved gardening. In younger years living in Savannah, TN, she oversaw the family vegetable garden. Working in the soil was therapeutic for her. She always made sure her yard was adorned with seasonal flowers.

Sewing was another hobby she loved doing, whether it was a new colorful dress each year for school, the tedious needlework of Hardanger (Norwegian handiwork), or embroidering linens. If she put her mind to learn something, she did it well.

But what outranked all the amazing joys she accomplished was her love for her family, especially the grandchildren and the great grandchildren. She made sure she kept up with what was going on in their lives, keeping up with all of their birthdays, activities and interests.

Survived by three sons, Donald Bunting and wife Camilla; Terrell Bunting and wife Karen; and David Bunting and wife Teresa; brother Harold Collins and wife Wylene; 10 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and many loving brothers and sisters in Christ.

Visitation will be on Monday April 7th 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be Tuesday April 8th 11:00AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will be on Friday April 11th 11:00AM in Burlington Santa Fe Cemetery, in Branford, FL. www.woodfinchapel.com
