Sherry Lee Green

Sherry Lee Green, age 87 of La Vergne died Monday August 17, 2026. She was a a native of Rosedale Indiana and was preceded in death by her parents Carl Mingle, and Lois Cooper Mingle; first husband Don Ray Lewis and second husband Lawrence Green; son, RJ Roberson; great-great grandchild, Messyiah; sister, Sara Haley.

Mrs. Green was a member of Miracle Baptist Church and also chaired the LaVergne Senior Center. She was a remarkable Rutherford Woman, being Vice Mayor, Mayor and Vice Mayor again in the mid 90’s. Mrs. Green was active playing Softball, loved to travel that included Germany, France, England. Her nickname was “Granny Green” and she loved to cook, especially chocolate cake and her family favorite banana pudding.

Mrs. Green is survived by her children, Sherry Lanae Sanders and husband Tim, Ricky Lewis, Laketa Lewis; grandchildren, Latisha Roberson, Austin Lewis and wife Daisy, Erica Haynes and husband Jon, Kelly Lewis, Great grandchildren, Deven, Dashia, Delaney, Lathan, Lucy, Kaylee, Luke, Anna; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Mingle , Thomas Mingle and wife Cheryl, Jimmy Mingle; sisters, Joyce Dutton; Janie Taylor and husband Bob.

Visitation will be Thursday August 20th 4:00PM to 8:00PM and Friday August 21st 1:00 PM to 3:00PM at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral service will be Friday August 21st 3:00 PM at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Interment to follow in Mapleview Cemetery. www.woodfinchapel.com
