Obituary

Sherrie Lynn Tolbert age 63 passed away peacefully at her home in Manchester, TN with her loved ones around her on December 16, 2020.
Sherrie was born on January 19, 1957. She grew up in Rutherford County and attended schools in Murfreesboro. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her mother Peggy Ann Tolbert, husband Rick Fitzgerald and step- brother, Michael Peters.
She is survived by her father, Freelin step-mother Barbara Tolbert, her sister, Bettye (Ronald) Stewart, step-sisters; Susan Long and Lori Peters; Her children, Jason Leathers, Jeff (Kelly) Leathers, Cory (Mindy) Summar, Anna Kate Fitzgerald and fiancé Ryan Norman. She had eight grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her best and most devoted friend, Sharon Chaffin Plemmons, RN.
As a child, Sherrie always said she wanted to be a nurse. She achieved her childhood dream, having worked as a nurse for over 35years. She worked as an LPN after graduating from Shelbyville Vocational Tech the 24th of September 1983. She received her RN designation after graduating from Columbia State Community College on May 7, 1993.
Sherrie was the office manager of the VA out-patient clinic in McMinnville until her retirement.
Any donations honoring her life may be made to Alive Hospice, Disable Veterans, or Wounded Warriors.
A celebration of life will be at Woodfin Chapel on December 23rd at 1:00PM. Brother Jeff Brown, and Doug Hutchins will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service. www.woodfinchapel.com
