Sherman Ben Towns, age 72 of Murfreesboro died Sunday August 19, 2012. He was a native of Chattanooga Tennessee and was the son of the late, Austin and Gladys Davis Towns. Mr. Towns was a member of Bellwood Baptist Church, and a graduate of Oakridge High School in Oakridge, Tennessee. He worked for Haynes Lumber Company as a Cabinet Builder, then Capital Airlines as a painter for many years. He was a gifted Craftsman and Master Fisherman. He is survived by his children; Julie Perry and husband Dale of Murfreesboro, Ben Towns of Murfreesboro, Shannon Towns of Florida; grandchildren; Grant Hollingsworth, Camaron Perry, Madeline Perry, Austin and Maykala Towns. Funeral service will be 11:00AM Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Rev. John Herdman will officiate. Burial will follow in Mullins Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Perry,Dale Perry, Camaron Perry, Ken Baskin, Cody Boles, Ron Pearman, Scott Murphy, and Tim Seagers.
