Severin "Pere" Joseph Hymel, Jr. age 68, of Smyrna, TN, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017. A native of Jefferson Parrish, LA, he was preceded in death by his parents, Severin J. Hymel Sr and Rita Mae Folse Hymel; daughter, Cyndi Hymel; and brother, David Mark Hymel.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jean "Mere" Pratt Hymel; daughters, April Hubbuch and her husband Mark of Mt. Juliet, TN and Jennifer Morrison and her husband James of Smyrna; grandchildren, Kyle Hubbuch, Kayla Hubbuch, both of Mt. Juliet and Alana Morrison, and L.J. Morrison both of Smyrna; sister, Lisa Hymel Corbin and her husband Tim of Cedar Hill, TN; nephews Michael and Christopher Corbin both of Cedar Hill, TN; along with cousins and extended family in Louisiana.

Mr. Hymel worked as a pipe fitter for many years and also owned Mere & Pere Jewelers with his wife in Smyrna. His grandchildren were his world and he loved them will all of his heart. He was devoted to and cheered for all the sports they played in.

In lieu of flowers the family asked to please bring and share memories of Pere  .

Visitation will be Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
