Sarah Mae Pope, age 84 of Murfreesboro died Monday February 16, 2015. She was a native of Midland Indiana and was the daughter of the late Orval and Goldie Alice Hensley Pope. Miss Pope was a graduate of Bob Jones University. She started to work for the Sword of the Lord, in Wheaton, Illinois and continued with them to Murfreesboro, Tennessee. For over 55 years she was secretary to the Editors until her retirement on October 17, 2014. She was honored by Midwestern Baptist College with an Honorary Doctor of Humanities at her retirement from the Sword of the Lord. Miss Pope was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church. She is survived by her nieces, Alice Games and husband Ivan, of Murfreesboro, Cheryl Sciscoe and husband Tracy of Indiana; nephew, Mike Ranard and wife Debbie of Maryland, Kevin Pope and wife Cheryl of Alabama, and a host of other great-nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Funeral service will be 1:00PM Friday at Franklin Road Baptist Church. Dr. Shelton Smith and Dr. Mike Norris will officiate. Burial will follow at the Bill Rice Ranch.
