Sarah Elizabeth Dyer Marcus, age 88 of Smyrna, TN passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013. She leaves behind her husband of 70 years, Ralph Marcus and four daughters, Diana Bernstein, Kathy Dawson and her husband John, Terrie Bryan and her husband Jim, and Beth Pruiett and her husband Shane; ten grandchildren, David and Paul Bernstein, Amy Dawson, Ryan and Rebecca Gregory, Marcus and Jessica Hoffstetter, Ashley and Zachary Pruiett, and Kelly Flatt; eight great grandchildren; beloved cousins, John and Jenny Dyer and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Lexie Dyer; brother, William Dyer; half-brother, David Dyer and half-sisters, Sylvia Stanford and Linda McIntosh. Mrs. Marcus was born in Union City, TN and after moving the family numerous times with her husband while he served in the U.S. Army, they retired in Martin, TN before moving to Smyrna. She was a member of Stones River Baptist church. Ryan Gregory, David Bernstein, Marcus Hoffstetter, Zachary Pruiett, Ronnie Perryman and Mike Downs will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at Stones River Baptist Church in Smyrna, Sunday, May 26th from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held at Stones River Baptist Church on Monday, May 27th at 11:00AM. Brother Joe Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery.
