SARAH YEARWOOD LEWIS, age 94, of Murfreesboro died Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Belcourt Terrace Nursing Home in Nashville. She was born on North Maple Street in Murfreesboro and lived in Murfreesboro her entire life until moving to Nashville for nursing care two years ago. She was the daughter of the late Ed & Fleta Belle Smith Yearwood. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Clifford Lewis. She is survived by her son, Larry Lewis of Nashville; nieces, Linda Bramblett of Shelbyville and Edith Mummel of Lavergne, nephews, Robert Harris of Decatur, Ala., Ray Yearwood, Cincinnati, Ohio, Dan Hibdon and Dwain Hibdon of Murfreesboro; brother in law, Claude Hibdon of Murfreesboro; sister in law, Margaret Yearwood of Cincinnati, Ohio; several great nieces including Wanda Biles of Murfreesboro. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Sunday at East Main Church of Christ with Wayne Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-8 pm Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Lewis was a long-time member of East Main Church of Christ. She was a 1934 graduate of Central High School. Mrs. Lewis worked in retail sales at McLellans on the square, helped open the J. C. Penney Store on North Maple and retired from Sullivans Department Store. Active pallbearers will be Dan Hibdon, Dwain Hibdon, Bryan Hibdon, Jacob Hibdon, Dr. Thomas (Butch) Swindle, Chris Kohler, Bruce Burlason, Jimmy Arnette, Jimmy Lester, The Rev. Stephen Gideon and Perry Craft. Honorary pallbearers will be John Webb, Ray Mummel, Dr. E. C. Tolbert and the Elders and Deacons of East Main Church of Christ.
