Obituary

Sarah Ellen Burns Frizzell of Murfreesboro, age 86, passed unexpectedly and peacefully, Friday, May 20, 2016 going Home to meet her Heavenly Father and have a grand reunion with her Husband, Daughter, Grandson, Mother, and Daddy, as well as many other loved ones.

In addition to her parents, Thomas Poplin "Doc" Burns and Vera Pauline Looney Burns, beloved Sarah was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Harry Kenneth Frizzell;  her loving daughter, Rita Ellen Frizzell; and precious grandson, Jordan Henderson Frizzell; brothers, Robert "Bobby" Burns, Tommy Poplin Burns II, and Jerry Lee Burns.

She is survived by a son Ken and his wife Doris Crews Frizzell.

She was a member of Journey Pointe Church where she loved to play a variety of musical instruments and enjoyed singing in the choir, quartet, and many musical programs. She was a loyal member of the Ministry Council, served as the director for the Fifty-Five and Alive seniors' activity group, and taught Sunday school for many years.

Mrs. Frizzell worked for State Farm Regional Headquarters in Murfreesboro retiring as supervisor of Agency Administrations Department.

As a couple, she and her husband danced with the Tennessee Walkers Square Dance Club where they made enduring friendships. They volunteered to entertain at almost all the nursing homes in Murfreesboro, regularly, for many years.  It was a ministry they both loved.  They also loved to go to music festivals in their camper, taking their beloved toy poodle, Buzz, with them on each trip.

Sarah and her husband Ken enjoyed playing music with the band every Friday night at Miller's Grocery for over 11 years. They recently played with Johnny B and the Balladeers Band for about 3 years at The Readyville Mill on Saturday's.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ron Bevels officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews, Tony Burns, Barry Burns, B.J. Burns, Tom Burns, III, and John Carter; along with great nephews, Tyler Burns, Christopher Erwin, Tony Burns, Jr., Myles "Moe" Burns, Drue Adams, and Tom Burns, IV.
