Sandra Barnes Walker, age 70, of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, September 22, 2013. A native of Birmingham, AL she was the daughter of the late Thomas C. and Florence S. Barnes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. David Ellis Walker Jr. and sister, Theresa B. McCammon. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brother David Young will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Walker is survived by son and daughter in law, David Ellis and Lavinia Walker III of Puplinge, Switzerland; daughters, and sons in law, Suzy and Derk Frizzell of Houston, TX, Cindy and Jeff Key of Murfreesboro and Michelle and Mike Clark of Murfreesboro; she enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Laura, Sarah, Dacian, and Maia Walker, Joshua and Jacob Key, Mackenzie and Lydia Clark; and stepmother, Dr. Carolyn Barnes. Mrs. Walker was a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ. She received her Master's Degree in Education from Middle Tennessee State University and taught there for several years. David Ellis Walker III, Derk Frizzell, Jeff Key, Mike Clark, Joshua Key and Jacob Key will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the David Walker Debate Scholarship Fund at MTSU or the North Boulevard Church of Christ Disaster Relief Fund in memory of Sandra B. Walker. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
