Samuel Mack Reed, age 80, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015. He was a native of Knox County, TN and the son of the late Samuel Mack Reed, Sr. and Mae Lou Alice West Day. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Leroy Blalock Reed and William Day, Jr. and a grandchild, Séamus Reed. Graveside service will be 1:00pm Friday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Wilda Reed, son, Samuel M. Reed, III and his wife Mary Lou of Chattanooga, daughter, Kimberly J. Murphy and her husband George of Murfreesboro, grandchildren, Shannon Murphy Crook and her husband Jeremy, Patrick Murphy and Betsy Ross Reed. Mr. Reed was a retired SMSGT with the United States Air Force where he served as a physician's assistant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital or the MTSU Honors College in his memory.
