Samuel Ralston McClanahan, age 75, died Friday, June 6, 2014. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Ralston and Mary Etta Lynch McClanahan. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Bullard McClanahan. Funeral service will be 11:00am Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bro. Charles Mullins and Bro. Tony Holt will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. He is survived by his sons, Kevin McClanahan and his wife Teresa of Franklin, TN and Keith McClanahan and his wife Gina of Murfreesboro; brother, James David McClanahan of Bon Aqua; sisters, Nancy Swineford, Frances McClanahan, Mary Pittenger, all of Murfreesboro; and three granddaughters, Jessica, Leigh and Hope McClanahan. Mr. McClanahan was a member of Kingwood Church of Christ and a US Navy veteran. He was a 1957 graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School and a retired educator.
