SAMUEL BUDDY CATHEY, JR. age 85 of Christiana died Friday April 30, 2010. He was a native of Coffee County and was the the son of the late Samuel and Mattie Lou Harrell Cathey. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Ford Cathey who died in 1995; brothers, J.N. Cathey, Billy Cathey; sister, Barbara Jean Cathey. He attended Hoovers Gap Community Church and was baptized in the Church of Christ at Bybees Branch .He was retired from United Service Equipment in 1986. He is survived by brothers, Leon Cathey and his wife Emma, Jerry Cathey and his wife Dot, Don Cathey and his wife Martha all of McMinnville, Richard Cathey and his wife Elaine of Woodbury; sister Dot Hollis of Bowling Green KY. Memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Cathey to Diabetes Association. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Bro. Tony Lawrence officiating. Pallbearers will be David Cathey, Jerry Cathey, Jr., Jeff Cathey, Ricky Cathey, Randy Green, Mike Ford, and Kenneth Lannom. Burial will follow in Thyatira Cemetery.
