Sadie Marie James

Sadie Marie James, age 79 of Smyrna died Saturday July 18, 2026. She was a native of Nashville and was preceded in death by her husband Carrol Michael James who died in 2004. Her parents, William Edward Byrd, and Beatrice Marie Hensley Byrd and grandchild, BJ Whited.

Mrs. James was a Christian and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

She is survived by her children, Cindy Brady and husband Ron, Michael Edward James and wife Robin, Jesse James and wife Angela; grandchildren, Brittany Whited, Gerald Drake and wife Macey, Danielle Dunn and husband Taylor, Michael James Jordan , Jr and wife Savannah, Brian James , Maddie Graveline and husband Dedan, Dalton James; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Clyde Byrd and wife Wanda; nephew, Anthony Byrd.

Visitation will be Sunday 26th  July 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral service will be Sunday July 26th  4:00 PM at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Interment will be at a later date at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. www.woodfinchapel.com
