Ruth Katherline "Kat" Donnell, age 88 of the Halls Hill community passed away on December 19, 2020. She was born on April 23, 1932 to the late Sam Travis and Jennie Lou Hendricks Travis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, George "Toby" Donnell; son, Gentry Donnell; daughter-in-law, Lillian Donnell; grandson, Barry Walker; great-grandson Chase Donnell; brothers, Aaron Travis, Charles "Mink" Travis, and Sam "Bud" Travis; and sisters, Willie Bell Cawthon and Joy McDaniel.

Mrs. Donnell was a homemaker and well known for her Cowboy Biscuits. Just ask Billy Hutchinson, Van, Jamie, and Howard Hill, Steve and Kirk Lehew, Gary Redman, Arlene Currey, Brenda Patrick Brothers, and many others. If you came to her house and left hungry, it was your own fault!

Mrs. Donnell is survived by her sons, Charles Donnell and friend Carol Hill of Murfreesboro, John Donnell and wife Rosetta of the Kittrell community, and Ronald "Boo Boo" Donnell and wife Barbie of the Kittrell community; daughters, Kathy Donnell of Murfreesboro and Pam Tyring and husband Larry of Murfreesboro; sisters, Dorothy Clarke, Mary Ann Fann and husband Melvin, Betty Landon, and Edna Davis and husband Lloyd; sisters-in-law Marie Travis and Sara Travis; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside service will be Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Coleman Cemetery with Bud Mitchell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Donnell's memory to a breast cancer research center of your choice.
