Ruth M. Baskin, age 93, the daughter of the late Woodson E. and Carrie W. Mitchell died on June 16, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Horace G. Baskin; brothers, James Woodson, Dan Dixon Mitchell and a sister, Nancy Louise Mitchell. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann Baskin Miller and her husband Dwight of Fayetteville, NC; a son, John Horace Baskin and his wife Bonny of Manchester, TN; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. Mrs. Baskin lived in the Christiana Community of Rutherford County as a girl and was a graduate of David Lipscomb University. She later graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Library Science. She went on to organize and manage the media center at McFadden Elementary School in Murfreesboro until her retirement. She was a lifelong Christian and had been a member of the Minerva Drive Church of Christ in Murfreesboro and the Main Street Church of Christ in Manchester. She enjoyed the many opportunities to teach the Bible to those around her. The family wants to thank Sue Barnes and Rosalind Ivie for the loving and excellent care they have given her in years past and their continuing friendship. Visitation will be Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 12:00pm until the time of funeral services beginning at 2:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Herbert Alsup will officiate.
