Ruth Willard Alford, age 93 of Murfreesboro died Wednesday May 9, 2018. She was a native of Rutherford County and was preceded in death by her husband, William Thurston Alford, parents, Tom and Sallie Mingle Willard, and a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Anne Ezell Alford. Mrs. Alford was a member of Kingwood Heights Church of Christ and had worked as secretary at Kingwood for many years. She retired from the Rutherford County Property Assessor office.

Mrs. Alford is survived by sons, Tom Alford and wife Lee Ann of Hohenwald, Jim Alford of Murfreesboro; daughter, Shirley Herrman and husband Bob of Nashville; grandchildren Shannon Pratt and husband Adrien of Lascassas, Amy Sisk and husband Coy of Tullahoma, Jennifer Gann and husband Ryan of Nashville, Rob Herrman and wife Kesley of Greenbrier, Amanda Smith and husband Jerimy of Antioch, David Alford of Murfreesboro, Lindsey Himes and husband Chris of Hohenwald, Kristen Meadows and husband Trai of Hartsville, AL; great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Caleigh, Cameron, Avery, Carley, Greenlee, Reese, Paisley, Sawyer, Payton, Anna Marie, William, Andalyn, Casen, Chandler.

Visitation will be after 10AM Saturday with funeral service at 1PM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brother Joe Rushing will officiate.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, family will serve as pallbears.  Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangments www.woodfinchapel.com
