Russell Martin, age 70 of Smyrna, died Friday, October 9, 2015. He was born in Evansville, Indiana and was a member of the Methodist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran, attended MTSU, and retired from Bridgestone. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his father, Russell Edward Martin, Sr. Survivors include his mother, Ethel Martin; and a son, Jeffrey Martin, both of Smyrna; a daughter, Christina Jowers and husband Robert of LaVergne; a brother, William Martin of Smyrna; four grandchildren, Zachary and Andrew Martin, and Ella and Julia Jowers; ex-wife and mother of his children, Michele Martin of Nashville; best friend a god-father to his children, Joe Corritore and wife Phyllis; and a host of other loving family and friends. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 until the time of memorial services beginning at 6:00pm Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Reverend Ricky Wade officiating.
