ROY D. UNDERWOOD age 82 of Murfreesboro, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday April 4, 2013. A native of Cannon County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Willie Mae West Underwood. He is also preceded in death by a grandson; David Underwood. Funeral service will be 2:00 Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Jim Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Glade Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mr. Underwood is survived by his wife of 20 years; Lucy Carter Underwood, daughter; Judy Johnson of Murfreesboro, sons; Chris and his wife Darlene of Aburntown, Randall Underwood, Clifford Underwood both of Murfreesboro, Philip Underwood of Woodbury, Randy and his wife Cindy Morris of Rockvale, Jimmy Morris of Murfreesboro, David Morris of Smyrna, Jackie and his wife Dawn Morris of Texas, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by four sisters; Hazel and her husband Al Babb of Smyrna, Pauline Thomas of Murfreesboro, Lillie Victory, Roberta Victory both of Smyrna, and brother Bobby and his wife Mamie Underwood of Lafayette. Mr. Underwood was a member of Oaklands Baptist Church, and was retired from Bridgestone. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
