Roy A. Sy Sundling, of Murfreesboro, TN, died peacefully after a battle with cancer on May 3, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Joyce Day Sundling, dear father of Thomas P. Sundling, and John F. Sundling, devoted step father of Elaine Tillman, and Jamie Hudson, brother of Shirley (Al) Dobleman, loving grandfather of six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughters Sally Sundling and June Hudson. His parents were the late Roy A. and Helen Anna Sundling. Mr. Sundling was born on June 18, 1927 in St. Louis MO. After high school he spent two years in the US Navy and upon returning attended St. Louis University. Mr. Sundling enjoyed a long career in the shoe industry holding various sales positions with Brauer Brothers Shoe Co., Famolare Shoe Co. and Brown Shoe Co. He was a member of the Two Ten Footwear Foundation, belonged to Stones River Country Club, and was an active member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church. A memorial service will be held Sunday May 6, 2012 at 2:00 PM at St. Pauls Episcopal Church with The Rev. Gene Wise and The Rev. James K. Polk Van Zandt officiating.
