Roy Franklin Rowland

Roy Franklin Rowland, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him most. Remembered for his gentle spirit, steady wisdom, and a lifetime of kindness, Roy touched countless lives through his quiet strength and genuine compassion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Rowland; parents, Joel and Ofa Rowland; brothers, Joel Rowland, Jr., Curtis Rowland, and Ray Rowland; and sister, Geneva Lovvorn.

Roy shared an extraordinary 72-year marriage with his beloved wife, Dot. Their enduring bond—rooted in love, respect, and unwavering commitment—stood as a remarkable testament to faithfulness and devotion. He is survived by his daughters, Sheila Hopkins and Lisa Bloomer (Charles); sons, Kevin Rowland and Dennis Rowland (Angie); nine grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.

A farmer at heart, Roy found deep joy and purpose in working the land. Farming was more than a job to him; it was a calling that reflected his patience, humility, and deep connection to nature. He embraced the rhythm of the seasons and the satisfaction of nurturing the earth.

Roy also dedicated many faithful years to Heritage Farms Dairy in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where he gained the respect of colleagues through his strong work ethic and genuine character. His retirement marked the closure of a career marked by integrity and dedication.

Faith guided Roy throughout his life. As a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, he attended the Lascassas Church of Christ, where he found fellowship, purpose, and spiritual encouragement. His devotion to faith shaped every part of his life and the way he cared for others.

Roy had a deep love for Atlanta Braves baseball, a passion that brought him joy season after season. Whether watching games at home or discussing players and highlights with friends and family, cheering on the Braves was one of Roy’s favorite pastimes.

Above all, Roy cherished time with his family. His home was filled with warmth, laughter, and shared memories. He offered wisdom with patience and love without condition, leaving a legacy of kindness and devotion that will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Roy is remembered with profound affection and gratitude. His life was a testament to faith, hard work, devotion, and the quiet strength of a kind heart. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit remains ever present, continuing to inspire all who knew him. May his memory be a blessing, and may his legacy continue to grow like the fields he so lovingly tended.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, August 31, 2026 from 10:00-1:00 PM at Lascassas Church of Christ. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Chuck Mullins officiating. A private burial will be held for the immediate family following the funeral service.
