ROY LEE LAMB, age 73, of Murfreesboro left this life with short notice, but by no means without a good fight on November 12, 2010. He was a native of Rockvale and hung his hat in Readyville for the past 24 years. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Inez Lamb. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Donna Lamb; his daughter, Cindy Lamb; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Gay Lamb; three grandchildren, Josie Lee Fitzgerald, Tanner Lee Lamb, and Andrea (David) McDuffie; three great grandchildren, Ethan, Amaris, and Josiah McDuffie. He is also survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles William and Jo Lamb, Howard and Marie Lamb of Gladeville, Earl and Faye Lamb; two sisters and brothers-in-law; Christine and the late Beacham Bowman, Frances and Ronnie Conner of Adolphus, Kentucky, and many nieces and nephews who were entertained with his love and laughter for many years. Last, but by no means least, he will be missed by his beloved dog and companion, Gracie. Roy retired from Lewis Bros. Bakery where he was a transport driver for 44 years. He was an avid Trail rider and dedicated to his coon hounds and his beagle dogs. He loved farming and the outdoors. Roy left a legacy of smiles, laughs, and a love of a good time for all family and friends who shared in his gift. He will be missed by his family, his horse, and all who had the opportunity to share in his humor and love. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Memorial service will be 3:00pm Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. John Hodge Jones will officiate.
