Roy Wayne Cawthon, age 83, of Lascassas passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late James Leffel and Nannie Zore Lyons Cawthon. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia Barrett Cawthon and granddaughter, Hannah Cawthon.

Funeral service will be 10:00am Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Pastor Darrel Whaley will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by sons, Dwayne (Kelley) Cawthon, Jeff (Rhonda) Cawthon, daughter, Rita Cawthon, all of Lascassas, brother, James Leffel Cawthon, Jr, of Murfreesboro, sister, Mary Gorde of IL, granddaughter, Jessica, great grandchildren, Chloe and Liam, step grandchildren, Krissy and Meaghan, step great grandchildren, Nathan and Gabe.

Mr. Cawthon was a member of Wards Grove Baptist Church and employed by Samsonite for many years until his retirement.
