Roy Allen

Roy V. Allen passed away peacefully in his home on Friday September 25, 2026, at age 85. Born in Jackson County, Tennessee to Effie Bean and Daniel Allen, he was the 9th of 11 children. From a young age, he was a hard worker on his family farm. He later went on to work for Nashville Wire Products for many decades in a variety of roles, ultimately being a supervisor and mentor to many. This is also where he met his wife and best friend Shea. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time in his vegetable garden, hunting for bargains, staying up to date on community ongoings, and spending time with his family. He was a longtime member of LaVergne Baptist Church and later LaVergne Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shea, as well as his son-in-law Lynn (Debra) Higginbotham, granddaughters Morgan (Zach) Bryant, Holly (Joey) Hester, and Courtney (Nick) Wall, great-grandchildren Jonah Bryant, Emma Kate Hester, and Paxton and Saylor Wall, and close nephews and siblings-in-law.

He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Lisa Higginbotham, his parents Effie and Daniel, and his siblings Lela, Martha, Aron, Kenneth, James, Ezmar, Gene, Olin, Joyce, and Harold.

Visitation will be held at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Smyrna on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 11:00 am until the time of funeral services beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery.
