ROY L. ALEXANDER, age 81 of Murfreesboro died Sunday August 9, 2009 at his home. He was native of Williamson County and the son of the late Clarence E. and Mattie Sue Ware Alexander. He was preceded by his first wife, Martha Virginia Smithson Alexander who died in 2001. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at North Boulevard Church of Christ, with Bro. David Young officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military rites. He is survived by his wife, Martha M. Alexander, of Murfreesboro sons, David (Rebekah) Alexander, Danny (Mechelle) Alexander both of Murfreesboro; daughters, Joy (John) Napier, of Murfreesboro, and Jan (John) Hester of Coffeyville Kansas; grandchildren, Jeremiah Hester, Rachael Rossitter, Nicole Thomas, Garrett Blankenship, Eldridge, Biven, Brennan and Averi Alexander,10 great-grandchildren; sister, Rachel Neely of Atlanta. He was a member and Deacon of North Boulevard Church of Christ. He retired from the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers; honorary pallbearers will be deacons and elders of North Boulevard Church of Christ.
