Rose Ann Massey Akers, age 86 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Sunday August 2, 2015. A native of Mason, TN, she was the daughter of the late Clarence C. and Velma Cothran Massey. Mrs. Akers was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" Lee Akers. Mrs. Akers is survived by her sons, Charlie Akers and his wife Susan of Murfreesboro, TN, David Akers and his wife Lisa of Colcord, OK, and Lee Akers of Franklin, TN; sister, Beverly Elder of Port Saint Joe, FL; grandchildren, Chuck Akers and his wife Blair, Laura, Kelsea, and Lacey Akers, Stacy McRoberts and husband Steven, Alisha Rainwater and her husband Neil; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside service will be 1:30 PM Saturday at Williamson Memorial Gardens in Franklin, TN with Jim Taylor officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Akers was a member of the Church of Christ, a homemaker, a coach's wife, and the Queen of flea markets and yard sales.
