Ronald Edward
Cannon
December 2, 1957 – February 14, 2026
Ronald Edward Cannon, Jr., age 68, of Smyrna, TN passed away on February 14, 2026. He was born in Nashville on December 2, 1957, to the late Ronald Cannon, Sr. and Sara Fuller Cannon. He was also preceded in death by his deeply beloved grandmother, Mommy Red.
Ronnie, lovingly known as "RC," is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Tammy Hudgins Cannon; beloved daughters, Ashley Cannon and Amanda Rittling and her husband Robert; cherished grandchildren, Noah and Allie Rittling; sister, Ronda Osment and her husband, George; brother, Dave Cannon; dear family friends, Christian Childers and Kim "Kimbo" Raybon, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ronnie was a huge sports fan, watching everything from football, basketball, baseball, and wrestling, with a distinct preference for the SEC. His favorite team was the Florida Gators, and you could always find him wearing the team's colors, orange and blue. Ronnie also loved relaxing on the beach with his feet in the sand and going deep-sea fishing whenever he had the chance. He spent countless hours listening to sports and talk radio, notably the Rush Limbaugh Show, and sharing valuable insights that he heard with his family and friends. Many people who knew Ronnie also knew how generous and charitable he was to his family and those in need. Not only did Ronnie truly give all he could to his family, he consistently donated to the Smyrna City Police Department, specifically the Shop with Cops event during the holidays. He also held fundraisers for his church, Breaking Bread owned by Andrea Brown, and various other organizations. Ronnie devoted 43 years of his life to Metro Water Services and retired in 2018 as a plant supervisor. Above all else, his pride and joy was being a "Papa." He loved playing monster, having tea parties, sharing Coke Zero with chocolate cake, and cuddling while watching shows with his grandchildren.
