Mr. Ronald “Ron” William Minnick, age 80, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Friday, August 14, 2026 after years with Alzheimer's. He was born in Logansport, IN to the late Joseph and Marie Minnick. Ron was a 1963 graduate of Fort Wayne International Business College with a degree in Accounting. He worked for Honeywell in Wasbash, IN and later with Square D in Clearwater, FL and Smyrna, TN as Systems and Data Processing Manager. Ron’s last ten years of employment were with BMI in Nashville, TN as System Manager.
While Ron and his wife, Joanne, lived in Wabash raising their sons, he established and helped build the ARC of Wabash County, an organization that provides job training and life skills for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. Ron also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports. He was a huge Indiana University basketball fan and could always be seen chewing on a cigar. Ron kept himself busy renovating and managing his rental properties. Many of his building skills were passed down to his sons and grandchildren.
Ron’s greatest job after retirement was watching his grandchildren play baseball, basketball, softball, and volleyball. He and Joanne spent years travelling to several states to watch their grandchildren play their respective sport.
Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joanne Minnick; son, Mark Minnick and his wife Becky; grandchildren, Justin Minnick, Alandria Minnick, Taylor Minnick, and Haley Minnick; sister, Lou Ann Doty and her husband Tom; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Minick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott Minnick, and brother, Bob Minnick.
The family asks memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society at American Cancer Society in memory of Ron.
