Roger D. Perry, age 57, of Smyrna, TN passed on Thursday, November 20, 2014. A native of Nashville, TN he was preceded in death by his parents, Buford Thomas and Mary Sue Rushing Perry. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 6:00PM at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Mr. Perry is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Perry; brothers, Tommy "Red" Perry of Smyrna and Dale Perry and his wife Julie of Murfreesboro; niece, Madeline Perry and nephew, Camaron Perry both of Murfreesboro; step-children, Katherine Russ and her husband Garth of New Hampshire and Brittany Donnelly of Smyrna; aunts, Betty McLain and her husband Bobby and Jenny Ratcliffe both of Smyrna; along with many cousins. Mr. Perry was of the Christian faith. He received his bachelor's in science from Tennessee Tech. Roger was an electrical engineer and part-owner of RT&D LLC in Smyrna with his brothers. Mr. Perry was an avid history buff and was known for reciting the Gettysburg Address at will. He liked reading and watching science fiction books and movies and was a big fan of Dr. Who. Roger also enjoyed watching Jeopardy and took great pride and pleasure in his business. He was a loving husband, brother and friend and will be greatly missed. Memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Perry to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
