Roberta Amelia Earles Shearer, age 89, of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, October 23, 2011 after an extended illness. She was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of the late Larcan W. and Mary Lizzie Burks Earles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Daniel Shearer, daughters, Betty Kendrick, Brenda Baxter, and brother, Ewin Earles. Funeral service will be 10:00am Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Gayle Alexander will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. She is survived by her son, Daniel B. (Bettie Jo) Shearer of Stockbridge, GA, daughter, Ann S. (Randy) Ward of Murfreesboro, brother, J. C. (Margaret) Earles of Pulaski, grandchildren, Kim (Chris) Hackney, Sheila (William) Pedersen, Rodney Baxter, Leshelle (Gene) Dixon, Brett Baxter, Chastity (Cody) Keith, Candice (Christopher) Hawkins, Chelsea (Jacob) Smith, Abby Ward, 10 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Mrs. Shearer was a member of Wilson Hill Baptist Church and a homemaker. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00pm Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. 615-893-5151.
